Problem was…I didn’t have a studio lined up to teach for OR clients to teach.
I got creative and used Eventbrite to offer free community classes at my local community garden.
While it didn’t bring in revenue right away, it did grow my email list and give me practice leading my flows.
If you are ready to start your yoga business I absolutely recommend starting off with some free classes.
I also recommend the following 3 steps to add reliable revenue as soon as you can.
You can offer one-on-one yoga sessions to clients who are interested in more personalized instruction. There are some online programs that can help but you could also look at online community groups like Facebook or Meetup. These sessions can be offered virtual or in person; remember safety first if meeting in person. You might want to rent space in a dance studio or community center to start.
Consider selling products such as yoga mats, clothing, or even your own products. Create an instructional video or online course that teaches HOW to use the product. This video is a great way to expand your reach and get more visible. BONUS: turn your product into a monthly subscription or membership and start creating reliable revenue. I teach how to do just this in my signature program, “Make Caviar The Lab.” Learn more here.
With various online platforms like Zoom or even social media, it's now easier than ever to teach yoga online. You can create and sell online yoga classes or offer live streaming classes with a variety of ways to have people play. One way to get started with little to no overhead is to create a Buy Me a Coffee (you can change the type of item) and then invite people to join a membership or attend a class. BONUS: offering a free or donation based class? Use BMAC to collect payments (it’s connected to Stripe). Join here; it’s FREE to start.
